Artist Statement

When I think of my artistic process, I start with Self. In isolation I explore realms of creativity that further my understandings of life and experience. I am forever striving for a stronger connection with Self through art.

My work is direct. I create art that communicates to the quietest parts of the mind. My goal is to pull dormant emotions to the surface and place a mirror in front of the viewer. My work demands a moment of reflection. My intrinsic nature allows for viewers to see themselves in the paintings physically and spiritually. I ask the question: How can I use my experiences to connect with a larger audience? The more I delve into who I am, where I come from, and tap into the Source, the more I have to offer to my community.

Texture and color are the most prominent elements in my paintings. Whether the texture is implied through specific brush strokes, or realized through impasto techniques, my paintings have an appearance that requires further investigation. Additionally, my color palette primarily ranges through various earth tones. These tones are found in every aspect of my paintings and allow my messages to be clear and direct.

My mission is to lead the people of my community back to Self in order to heal, understand, and prosper.
